Programme: HORIZON EUROPE
Topic: HORIZON-CL6-2024-BIODIV-02-3 – Promoting minor crops in farming systems
Project: ROTATES – Minor ROot and Tuber crops fostering AgrobiodiversiTy and Ecosystem Services
Timeline: July 2025 – June 2029
Project budget: 4.999.763,00 EUR

ROTATES promotes the adoption of minor starchy root and tuber crops (MRT) in both conventional and organic farming systems, thereby enhancing agrobiodiversity and ecosystem services. It develops agroecological management practices, including crop rotation and intercropping in pilot Living Labs, establishes breeding hubs to develop adapted varieties and creates a clean seed system supported by a phytosanitary certification policy.
ITC’s main role is to coordinate pilot Living Labs and manage and implement the Multi-Actor Approach (MAA) methodology.
This project has received funding from the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No. 101181532.
