VERNE is focusing on the transition of local and regional tourist destinations toward sustainable and circular models across Europe by providing an integrated framework for analysing the feasibility and impact of circular interventions in tourism destinations, offering recommendations for authorities, tourism industries, and citizens for the sector’s transition into more sustainable business models. VERNE will create and validate a range of systemic, replicable, and scalable solutions implemented and demonstrated in 5 European representative tourist destinations (VERNE Pilots).
ITC is responsible for the implementation of the Regional ZeroNET Food system for Green Tourism in Slovenia, focusing on Zero Food Loss and Waste Platform and Zero-Emission Distribution of Local Food.
